Guest-house booking terms
Last updated
Your accommodation agreement
These guest-house terms apply with the written quotation and reservation confirmation supplied for your stay, subject to applicable law. Please obtain and read the suite details, dates, occupancy, total rate and cancellation conditions before paying. Website enquiries do not create confirmed reservations.
Rates and inclusions
Rates vary by suite, season and guest numbers. Your quotation will state the rate basis, total payable, breakfast inclusion, correct tax treatment and any agreed extras. Breakfast is included in the accommodation offering. Please request a quotation for your dates; no fixed tariff is displayed on this website.
Minimum stay
A two-night weekend minimum applies. Confirm how this applies to your requested dates before booking. Any additional holiday or seasonal minimum must be disclosed in your quotation.
Deposit and balance
A deposit of 50% of the stay is required, with the balance due seven days before arrival. For bookings made within seven days of arrival, obtain the payment deadline from the manager before accepting the quotation. This website takes no payment; use only payment instructions verified directly with the guest house.
Confirmation and changes
The manager must confirm acceptance of your booking and the applicable payment conditions in writing. Contact the manager to request a change to dates, suite or guest numbers. Changes depend on availability and an agreed revised price/terms. Do not assume a requested change has been accepted until confirmed.
Cancellations
Contact enquiries@serenityguesthouse.co.za or +27 63 159 8539 promptly about cancellation and keep the written record. Specific deadlines and any charges must be supplied before the reservation is concluded and recorded in the booking confirmation. Consult the terms supplied with your booking for its applicable cancellation conditions.
Late cancellation, no-show and refunds
The supplied policy warns that late cancellation or failure to arrive may result in a fee or loss of a deposit/prepayment. This is not an automatic or unrestricted forfeiture rule. Any charge must be lawful and reasonable in the circumstances, including the notice given and the reasonable possibility of re-letting the accommodation. Any refund due must be assessed under the agreed booking terms and applicable law. Where section 17(5) of the Consumer Protection Act applies, no cancellation fee may be charged when the person for whose benefit the booking was made cannot honour it because of death or hospitalisation.
Third-party reservations
If you reserve through an external booking platform, submit changes or cancellations through that platform’s prescribed process and consult the terms disclosed for that reservation. Contact the guest house if you need help identifying the applicable terms. The platform’s terms do not remove mandatory consumer rights. No active listing or platform partnership is asserted by this clause.
Arrival and departure
Check-in starts at 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00. Early or late arrival and late departure require prior arrangement and availability. Late departure may attract a fee, which must be disclosed and agreed beforehand. Please confirm your expected arrival time with the manager in advance. Self check-in is not offered.
Guests, pets and smoking
The guest house welcomes adult guests; children and pets are not accommodated. Confirm eligibility for your party with the manager before paying. Assistance-animal and disability-related requests receive individual consideration under applicable law and are not refused solely under a generic pets rule. Smoking is permitted only outdoors in designated areas. Please respect other guests and staff.
Parking and accessibility
Guest parking is free, but a dedicated space per suite is not promised. Large vehicles and trailers cannot be accommodated. Contact the manager about your vehicle. The property is not advertised as wheelchair accessible; discuss your specific needs before booking. The website’s accessibility statement does not certify physical access to the property.
Meals, facilities and transfers
Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:00. Other meals may be arranged in advance at an additional charge, subject to availability. Transfers to and from George Airport are available on request by prior arrangement, at an additional charge and subject to availability. Please request your transfer in advance. Confirm dietary needs, extras and charges directly. The pool and shared guest spaces are for use in accordance with reasonable instructions supplied by the manager. Any extra service and its price must be agreed before it is supplied.
Events beyond reasonable control
Severe weather, power outages, natural disasters or civil unrest may affect travel or services. Contact the manager promptly so that the circumstances, reasonable alternatives and any refund or cancellation rights can be assessed. This clause does not automatically exclude all liability or all refunds, and does not override statutory rights.
Concerns and legal rights
Raise an accommodation or billing concern promptly with the manager using enquiries@serenityguesthouse.co.za or +27 63 159 8539. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits a right, remedy, duty or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under applicable South African consumer law. No waiver of liability for gross negligence or unlawful conduct is created. Any important risk or liability terms must be brought to your attention as required by law before agreement.
Version of terms
Keep your quotation, booking confirmation and the terms supplied when you booked. Later website edits do not automatically replace your existing agreement. Any booking-specific arrangements must be confirmed in writing with the manager.
